uTorrent agora faz parte da 'lista negra' do Google e de antivírus

Está aberta a temporada de caça a um dos clientes de download mais populares do mundo, o uTorrent. De acordo com o site TorrentFreank, a plataforma agora é tida como perigosa ou de conteúdo malicioso por serviços de segurança como softwares antivírus e até o filtro de buscas do Google.

Aparentemente, uma série de programas de segurança para o computador começou a bloquear o uTorrent repentinamente, alegando a presença de componentes potencialmente perigosos. A mensagem dos antivírus cita que o arquivo EXE do serviço está relacionado com o Trojan.Win32.Generic!BT e o OpenCandy, um adware que é polêmico e pode gerar um falso positivo — mas que era aceito até o momento.

Além disso, o Google iniciou uma jornada própria para dificultar o acesso do usuário à plataforma. No Chrome, a página de download da atual versão do uTorrent leva você a um alerta em vermelho sobre os potenciais perigos do site. Isso significa que ele foi denunciado ao menos sete vezes nos últimos noventa dias.

Em testes próprios, a empresa detectou "downloads maliciosos sendo feitos e instalações sem o consentimento do usuário". Vale lembrar que o próprio uTorrent já tem a imagem bastante negativa: em março, vazou a informação de que ele usava PCs de clientes para minerar bitcoins durante o download.

O Torrent Freak informa que vários sites de torrent também receberam o mesmo aviso. Em resposta às denúncias, a Google afirma que esse é o resultado de uma nova filtragem de páginas que podem realizar "mudanças inesperadas" no seu computador. Por enquanto, a equipe do uTorrent ainda não se pronunciou sobre o caso.

Vírus no Facebook espalha mensagens com a sua identificação!

Diariamente o Facebook apresenta algum género de vírus que infecta algumas contas menos bem protegidas. Contudo, nesta segunda-feira o problema teve uma amplitude mais geral em que praticamente todos os utilizadores receberam notificações para publicações de vírus, muitas delas de cariz pornográfico e com a identificação do utilizador entre dezenas de outros.

Durante o dia de hoje, foram muitos os utilizadores do Facebook que se queixaram de várias mensagens de vírus espalhadas pelos seus murais que continham, grande parte delas, conteúdos de cariz pornográfico.
Os utilizadores recebem notificações com uma mensagem do género “Ana Silva identificou-te a ti a e a mais 19 pessoas numa publicação/vídeo”. Os menos informados clicam para ver de que se trata, propagando, ainda mais, o vírus pela rede social.

Exemplo do vírus do Facebook

O vírus foi já identificado como sendo o vírus Amazonaws (S3.amazonaws.com/addns/) e motivou já centenas de denúncias por parte dos utilizadores ao Facebook.

Este vírus pode ser transferido facilmente bastando clicar na publicação infectada. Assim que se instale, começa a fazer publicações em seu nome, identificando contactos e propagando-se por outras contas no Facebook.

Como faço para eliminar este vírus?

Antes de mais, fica mais uma vez o alerta para que não clique em tudo o que se vê no Facebook, sobretudo quando o conteúdo é duvidoso e, grande parte das vezes, de cariz sexual e/ou pornográfico.
Aconselhamos a, em primeiro lugar, denunciar as publicações em que foi idenficado, sinalizando-as como SPAM, enviar para o Facebook as rever e, de seguida, pedir a remoção da sua identificação na mesma.

Vá ainda a Definições > Aplicações e verifique se tem alguma app suspeita ou que não se lembre de ter instalado. Desinstale de imediato e elimine-a!

Elimine também todas as publicações que foram partilhadas por si no seu mural, para que outras pessoas não cliquem e sejam, também elas, infectadas.

Aceda ainda ao seu Registo de Atividade (clique na seta nio canto superior direito) e elimine/denuncie toda a atividade suspeita.

Se não solucionar o problema, aconselhamos a correr um anti-malware e o Antivirus pois pode estar alojado noutro local, uma vez que também pode ser transferido via email.

Google toma decisão que vai prejudicar milhões de usuários do Android

A Google acabou de adotar uma decisão que vai prejudicar cerca de 930 milhões de usuários do sistema operacional Android e colocá-los em uma posição frágil no que diz respeito a sua segurança. De acordo com a Forbes, a companhia simplesmente vai parar de lançar atualizações de segurança do módulo WebView para a versão 4.3 Jelly Bean ou inferior do SO, abandonando todas as pessoas que não estão usando as edições mais recentes do software (4.4 KitKat e 5.0 Lollipop).
O WebView é um componente comumente usada no desenvolvimento de aplicativos para Android. Ela é capaz de exibir páginas da web sem que seja necessária abrir outro programa separado. O problema é que tal módulo é constantemente usado por crackers para invasão remota de telefones celulares e roubo discreto de informações confidenciais, sendo atualizada frequentemente sempre que os cibercriminosos inventam uma nova forma de se aproveitar do WebView.
Com o cancelamento dessas atualizações, os crackers poderão “deitar e rolar” nos aparelhos equipados com a versão 4.3 ou mais antiga do sistema operacional Android. De acordo com pesquisadores da empresa de segurança Rapid7 (responsável por alertar a Forbes sobre tal abandono), a versão mais recente do WebView liberada para o Jelly Bean possui ao menos 11 “buracos” que podem ser usados por pessoas mal-intencionadas para prejudicar o celular alheio.

O Jelly Bean já está "velho"?

Em resposta à Rapid7, a Google confirmou que de fato não irá mais desenvolver patches do WebView para versões mais antigas do Android, visto que o componente foi substituído por um padrão mais robusto nas versões 4.4 e 5.0 do sistema operacional.
A companhia afirma, contudo, que irá aceitar soluções de bugs e vulnerabilidades enviadas pelos próprios usuários através do Android Open Source Project (AOSP). Em outras palavras, um patch pode até ser liberado futuramente, mas apenas se ele for desenvolvido por terceiros – a Google não vai mais se intrometer nesse assunto.
Ao que tudo indica, a Gigante de Mountain View considera o Jelly Bean velho demais para seus próprios usuários, e essa postura pode ser encarada como uma mensagem discreta para que todos nós atualizemos nossos dispositivos para algo mais moderno. Contudo, as mais recentes pesquisas de mercado indicam que apenas 39,1% dos aparelhos Android ativos ao redor do mundo estão equipados com a edição 4.4 – todo o resto ainda usa uma versão antiga do SO.

O que fazer agora?

Se você ainda usa o Android 4.3 ou uma versão ainda mais antiga, não há motivos para entrar em desespero. As vulnerabilidades presentes no WebView são um tanto brandas e não oferecem grandes riscos aos usuários que se atentem às medidas clássicas de segurança: tome cuidado com os aplicativos que você instala e evite ao máximo obter softwares de maneiras alternativas (baixando APKs em sites desconhecidos, por exemplo).
Além disso, é bem provável que terceiros comecem a desenvolver seus próprios patches de segurança para o WebView em um futuro próximo, de forma que – por enquanto – podemos ficar tranquilos em relação ao assunto.
